Four
Letter Words(He
wept series)
(Learnt…Serial Blog Post…9/19)
In
English there are two words, both containing only four letters with only letter
common between. They are Love and Hate
and the only common alphabet in these two words is 'e'. Interestingly, both
the words end with letter 'e'.
Philosophically, and also with a reason
to connote, I like to take this letter 'e' as something which stands for 'evil';
another four letter word. The last
alphabet of the word 'evil', quite
interestingly, seems to the first letter of the world 'Love'…… Is it too much
of a word-play using the common english words? ….Am I trying to coin a message
out of it? ….I think I can leave that
part with you readers! May be some
of you can think about an interesting message using these most common, yet most
relevant, English words!
They say 'a picture is worth thousand words'. What does the the picture that comes with this post convey
to you. One, is synonymous with hate: towards mankind albeit of a particular race. One, is synonymous with love: towards mankind especially towards the terribly diseased. The people in these images, are not the same,
but are created in the same way, fashioned by the same person. These people may have different earthly
parents. But both of them have been
designed by the 'one and only creator'
God. The Book of Genesis says God
created man in his 'own image and likeness'.
Irrespective who we are are, what we are doing, how we are living, and to
what extent we are moving up in our life or going down, a truth which is
undeniable is that you and I are formed and fashioned in the image of God!
Jesus was once quizzed by a group of
radical Jewish people who wanted to know
his take on paying taxes to Caesar (Roman King). Their question emerged from their presumption
that, as children of Yahweh God, Jews do not have to comply by the rules of
Roman kingdom. However, Jesus came with a reply which astounded them to the
core. He took a coin and asked whose
image and inscription is their in the coin.
They said the coin carried the image of Roman King. He simply said ( I suppose looking at their
face intently) Give to Caesar what
belongs to Caesar. Give to God what
belong to God. I am not sure how far the people around understood this sneaky
statement. If a coin that carries the image
of the King, is to be given to the king.
How much more you human, who carries the image of God, must give
yourself to him?
Hate - evil
- Love
Hate begets hate. Hate,left unchecked
breeds evil. The only counter for evil is love. God sent his son Jesus to take
up the sins of the world, the punishment of the sins of the world. The whole gamut of evil and its wages was
offloaded on one person ~ In the person of Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. At the
Garden of Eden, God caused death (sentence) upon his creation. At the Golgotha Mount, God caused life
(eternal)to his creation.
The Bible does not say God's character
is, it says God is love (1 John 4:8 ) And
the love was personifed in the life of his son Jesus Christ and demonstrated by
his death on the Cross 1 John 4:9).
God was revealed to us in the form of
Jesus. Jesus revealed to us what God's
love is. Jesus was the image of God,
impression and inscription of love.
A father wept when his own child stained
the precious white shirt…..
Jesus wept when his own image(love) is
stained by the corruption (hate) of the world….
God's son (or creation) Hitler ( you and
me) mars his father's image on him when he takes pride in killing his own
people….when he butchers millions who are made in his image!
Father in Jesus weeps…
Do I bring tears to Jesus? I will, if I am inside the tomb, dead and
buried for four days..How?
