Gods with Masks (Jesus wept…continued)
(Learnt..a serial post…Part 10)
Social
media pages, last week, were abuzz with
a debate on an opinion, a suggestion
proposed by a leading lady celebrity, alteast two months ago. A video of her talk during an award function
was rerun in the media, leading to an active interaction, largely due to the
prevalent situation. She opined that "Just
as one sends generous donations to temples, we must send donations to hospitals
and schools too "
There
was another public opinion. During a time when all the worship places are shut,
we must treat as 'Living Gods' all our
medicos, policemen, sanitation workers who are fighting, day in and day out, in
the forefront of our battle against this pandemic. Undoubtedly,
our brothers and sisters, who are out there in the field, deserve our biggest appreciation
and respect!
It
is true that people are prohibited from visiting temples, mosques, churches. The places once thronged by rich and poor,
simple and affluent people is now locked-up,
indefinitely. Irrespective of the
advancements and inventions in medical field, regardless of exponential growth
in science and technology which is taking mankind to go even up-to planet mars,
man has failed in his attempts to destroy the sting, the root of disease! It is a fact that he cannot succeed too!
Why?
On
the one hand, one cannot deny that millions and millions, thanks to the medical
advancements, have recovered from horrible diseases, received new life, renewed and extended their
lifespan. Kudos to medical achievements!
On the other hand, countless people, whose cases given up the medical
professionals, have received miraculous healing and deliverance by their
prayers and faith in Jesus Christ. Even
today, hopeless men lying in the hospital beds are regularly met, motivated by
a group of christian disciples who show the love of Jesus and pray for their
healing. Enough and more evidences are there to prove that the mighty hands of
Jesus has caused healing and deliverance to many whose cure could not be found
in medical sciences. We learn that
Jesus, God incarnate, does not live in temples which man has built.
Rather, he loves to dwell in the temple of man himself. Inside him! So what?
Today,
we frequently use disinfectant sprays to sanitize our hospitals, houses, streets, even our offices. Regularly, we wash
our hands with soap. All well. The
government has been constantly reminding us that social distancing and spotless
sanitation are the ones which can save us from this pandemic! Distancing and Cleansing is the key!
Hospitals
are Temples, Doctors are our Gods with
Masks! A statement such as this, is now being
highly avowed and acknowledged
But
I have a question, a thought. A
perspective that goes beyond prescription (medicine)! This disease is even killing our (Medical)
Gods! Hospitals are quickly becoming
mortuaries! Aren't they living Gods? Can Gods die?
In
the sight of God, not only medical personnel, each and everyone formed
according to the image and likeness of God are Gods in human form! But the sad
truth is that, this God, this man is no more a living being….he is born as
someone who has lost his life….lives as a dead being…..lives as a dead being
and gets buried….God who created him laments at his cemetery…Jesus sheds tears!
Who
are we? Living Gods? Lively Gods?
(Contd….)
