GOD's megaphone : Lessons to learn (1)

During these Covid-19 days or must I say Covid 19 era, two or three terminologies or even more are being stated and spoken about more frequently than anything others.  To  name a few, quarantine, self quarantine, social distancing, containment sanitizing, asymptomatic and not to the mention, the lock down.  Quite interestingly, atleast three months ago these words, in dictionary, meant something different, or some even meant nothing.  But Corona has not only redefined lives, but rephrased the language itself.

                                                                                                                                                                  Today, officially, marks the 50th day of the lock-down.   Even though, there have been relaxations and must we say large scale violations and deviations in certain areas, throwing the the social distancing rules in the air,the country has neither made any announcement of having stepped out of this phenomenon ,  nor does it look ready for a world hereafter.

                                                                                                                                                                    As a matter of fact, I had not  purposely planned to resume my series meditation/posting on this day.  It is only but coincidental.  Yesterday,  a bible portion, an incident in the life of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, as found in the Gospel accounts, sort of triggered a stirring in me to look at what our Lord is trying to teach us these days.

                                                                                                                                                                    I am reminded of a quote by a famous christian thinker C.S.Lewis, who in his book 'Problem of Pain' writes

God whispers to us in our pleasure

speaks in our conscience

but shouts in our pain:

it is his megaphone to rouse a deaf world!

One of the most favourite statements of Jesus during this ministry was "Him that has ear, let him ear". It does not mean that some people did not have the 'physical' ears in their head.  What he actually meant was 'those who have the attentive, submissive, obedient, purified, focussed ears' will hear what the Spirit of the God is saying now.  I do believe that God is saying something now. 

Yes there is a message even behind these terminologies. 

God was not in the wind, earthquake, fire.  After all these, there resonated a still small voice..a delicate whispering voice.

If your are ears - spiritual ears - are filled with the plethora of news, with pointless statistics, with pin-pricking preachings, then you ears will surely miss my point. The point which the Lord wants to make. 

We need to shut and as well as open our ears…how?                                                      (Contd…)
