Come out... (Jesus wept….a parable in study concludes)
In our
recent blog posts, we have been mulling over the cause and concept behind the
tears shed by our Lord and Saviour at the tomb of his dear friend Lazarus, who
he was anycase going to resurrect. To me, it was, and remains intriguing
prospect as to why would someone cry over a sorrow, when he know there is going
to be an happy ending.
But my
thought revolved, reflected, resonated beyond the grave of Lazarus. To me, the tearful disposition of Jesus meant
something more, something deeper, something larger. I could gauge a pround and prolific meaning. An insight.
An introspection. An interrogation with my soul. Tears, a parable to study.
What
echoes inside of me is …
Jesus wept
when he looked at the tomb of Lazarus…
Jesus weeps when he looks at
…
perishing souls (Sin: Eternal Death)
… the
distorted image of God (Sin: Glory Lost)
….the
tarnished version of Love (Sin: Loves to hate)
….temples
becoming tombstones (God in Man Vs Death in Man )
….devastation
due to disobedience (No helment, Yes hell met)
….decaying
due to delay (Buried in Sins Vs Breaking the chains)
Lazarus
story ended with a glorious resurrection!
Hallelujah!
The
question of Jesus crying is one thing.
Yes, he does. His tears was not
followed by a funeral sermon. His tears
was followed by a call to resurrect Lazarus. He rose again!
But the
question that I want to ask myself (and
if you wish, you can ask yourself)…is do I shed tears for what Jesus did….If
Jesus is in me…should I also not?
If my
response is like of Jesus, then the end will be resurrection!
Resurrected
soul, Resurrected life, Resurrected purpose!
Amen
